Abu Simbel Temple

Aswan, Egypt

"The stones, statues, and columns of the temples (Rameses and his wife Nefertiti) were cut
into giant pieces ranging from 3 to 20 tons in weight, each with a height of 3 metres and
a length of 5 metres. The great Temple was cut into 807 pieces, while the small Temple was
cut into 225 blocks and moved 200 metres away from the rising waters of the Aswan High
Dam." --Xos
