Birthday celebration

Tachikawa, Japan

"Ironically, the scupture is entitled 'Ruins.' I was born here in Tachikawa 43 years ago.
It used to be Johnson Air Force Base. (It was turned into the Showa Kinen Park after the
land was returned to the city.) In October 2001, I suffered a heart attack that nearly
took my life. After a quintuple bypass, rehab, medication, a change of diet, and a healthy
dose of God's grace, I am in the best shape of my life. I thank God for the skilled
medical community that made my recovery possible. And I'm thankful for every extra day God
gives me to enjoy life with my wife Chrissy and our daughters Madelaine and Abigail."
