Burnt tree
Along the Appalachian Trail in New York, near New Jersey
"Our hiking/phooning group (sometimes it's hard to tell our primary purpose) came across
this burnt out tree. It was a little 'squishy' balancing on top. If Paul had eaten a
heartier lunch he may well have gone right through what was left of the bark! Our best
guess is a lightning strike, what with little else burnt in the vicinity.
"Kudos to Paul for holding this steady pose on aching legs after 11 or 12 miles of
hiking!" --Dave
Danke für's phoonen, Paul. Danke für das Foto-Idee, Dave.
