A sign

Conway, Arkansas

"This sign really got our attention while we were visiting Arkansas. We asked around for
the history of the name and were told that when river boats coming down the Arkansas River
got stuck in the mud because the water was too low, the river men would go to the tavern
and 'suck suds (beer) until they swelled up like toads.' Now, there's a Toad Suck Daze
festival in the park every year that everyone in Arkansas knows about." --Doris
