Carvings
Stanford, California
Lisa invited us to attend a "drum circle" event (10-15 people with a wonderful assortment
of percussion instruments developing beautiful and complex rhythms). This was their normal
outdoor meeting place, but no one showed. But not a lost opportunity for phooning! What an
amazing sight!
These carvings are near dormitories on the campus of this prestigious school. If I
understand right, New Guinea carvers were commissioned to create these carvings. The
ground-based lighting barely lights the area, making it hard even for us to see each
other. But a camera set on long exposure reveals much! Lisa phoons near her brown ashiko
drum. Laurel's silver drum glows.
Merci Laurel, moi-même et Lisa pour faire le Phoon. Contributeur: mienne.
