La Colina geocache

What is geocaching? Someone hides a container of fun goodies somewhere on Earth and
reports the GPS location (longitute/latidude) on the web so that others can go hunt for
it. If you take something, you're supposed to leave something.

When Randall phooned near a hidden cache in Florida, I visited geocaching.com and searched
for caches in my city. Hey! This nice park was nearby and I didn't know about it. After
finding a container with toys, stickers, a log book, etc., I celebrated my first cache
find by phooning nearby. (Is this "geophooning?") Read more about this particular cache.

Note that (1) I tried to make it an interesting Phoon photo on its own and (2) I did not
reveal the location of the cache, for the sake of future geocachers.

Must you own a GPS device to go geocaching? I don't think so: I have found that the nice
maps on the geocache web pages help me get within 10 feet of the cache (if the map shows
nearby streets). So give it a try!

07/10/2004 Update: Randall created a unique geocache that requires phooning. Check it out!

Phooner: moi-même. Contributeur: mienne.
