Carlsbad founder

Carlsbad, California

"Captain John Frazier discovered mineral water when he sank a well for his farm in 1882.
The water proved therapeutic for various ailments. Several wealthy men from the midwest
joined him in founding the city of Carlsbad and built an 85-room hotel and spa which drew
people from across the USA until the hotel burned down in 1896. At an historic ceremony
110 years later, the mineral springs, spa and hotel were reopened.

"The gazebo on the left has four spigots. Bring your jug and add some coins and you can
fill your jug with mineral water." --Doris
