Ridge
Ruckle Ridge, Columbia River National Scenic Area, Oregon
"At this point on the ridge, there was a 50-foot cliff in front of me and a 20 foot cliff
behind me. We were doing a conditioning hike up Ruckle Ridge. Mark Seker was positioned to
take pictures of each member as he did the final, semi-exposed section of the catwalk. The
opportunity to phoon was upon me. Despite the vast objective danger (a rescue from that
location would have been difficult) and despite the 40-pound pack on my back, I grasped
the opportunity." --Keith
