Jews' Alley (Judengasse)

Trier, Germany

"There were Jews here as early as the first or second century. They were expelled in 1418.
When the Jews were called back after 1600, they settled in different parts of the city.
Since the time of the Holocaust, the Jewish community in Trier has been quite small.

"We tried several positions along this alley for the Phoon. Hiding in a doorway on the
left and watching us was a woman on a phone. I noticed three guys peering out the window
above like a group of raccoons peeking out of a tree." --Katherine

Thanks to Katherine for phooning and to Diana for the photo idea.
