Almost a school assignment

The Kansas Cosmosphere, Hutchinson, Kansas

"I am a history student at the University of Nebraska Omaha, and I am taking a class on
the 1960s. We have to do a paper, and I thought, 'Hmmm...I could do mine on the "space
race,"' but in reality it was an excuse to go to the Cosmosphere and do all of the fun
astronaut things.

"Our tour guide was hilarious. And he let us do anything we wanted to! We flew the shuttle
simulator, intentionally crashing it several times. We got whipped around upside-down in
the chair that simulates losing control, flew around in circles at 3 G's, squeezed into
training modules...we got to do everything!

"At the end of the night, we were the last ones there. I looked at the moon model and
thought, 'Phoon!' We started to explain phooning, but he already thought we were crazy and
so he just accepted it. I hope you enjoy our moonphoon!" --Jodi

Thanks to Jodi and Kate for phooning and to Jodi for the photo idea.
