Royal Gorge suspension bridge

Royal Gorge, Ca�on City, Colorado

After riding the train mentioned in this Phoon story, we drove over this bridge (seen from
afar in this Phoon photo). This is the world's highest suspension bridge.

Sure, the bridge looks nice and peaceful in this STILL photo, but the wind was blowing
strong, the bridge was moving and warping in the wind (see the bend on the left in the
distance?), and the view was of a drop of over 1000 feet. Those are wood beams that the
cars drive on. Gaps between them let us see the immense drop below our feet. (Gasp.)
