Sunsets and shoelaces
La Colina park, San Jose, CaliforniaI looked out of my friend's window and saw the beginning of this sunset. "Quick! Let's get
a Phoon photo!" Wanting a silhouette photo, I drove to the nearest high point I could
think of (the site of a previous Phoon photo), set up the camera and ran uphill to the
horizon position between the trees, guided by my friend's hand signals. My shoelaces in
the later, closer shot, reflected our haste--and our good timing: minutes later, the reds
dimmed into grays.
